The measures, which include enhancing legislation and wildlife protection at national level, were adopted at the African Elephant Summit in Gaborone, Botswana, this month.
Key African Elephant range states including Gabon, Kenya, Niger and Zambia, ivory transit states Vietnam, the Philippines and Malaysia and ivory destination states, such as China and Thailand agreed on measures to halt illegal trade in ivory.”
